This listing is information only, it is not for sale
  • Make:Ford
  • Model:Capri V8 Perana
  • Year:1970

The Ford Capri Perana was created by former car manufacturer Basil Green Motors in South Africa.

The name Perana is a deliberate misspelling due to the word Pirhana having been protected.

With the Ford Mustang being so popular in the US having a 5L Engine, Basil Green who was heavily involved in racing decided that taking the Ford Capri and adding a 5L Engine would make it equivalent or even better than the Mustang.

Only a few were built at the factory in South Africa however this is significant because as a result, the vehicle is eligible for competition in tarmac rally.

This particular Ford Capri is being rebuilt to Perana spec for competitions and includes a Boss 302 V8 Engine.
